Hi, I'm Mitchell Karr, founder of Lumi & Wood. With 16 years as a woodworker and 11 as an RN, I've always aimed to improve lives.

Frustrated by the lack of high-quality wooden accents in home décor, I decided to create my own. This passion project evolved into Lumi & Wood, fueled by a shared desire for finer craftsmanship.

Lumi (illumination) & Wood embodies our mission: brightening spaces with finely crafted wooden pieces that make a house a home.

When not in the workshop, I'm with my family – my wife Kristin and our children, Sawyer and Shealyn. They inspire and support this woodworking journey.

As a speech therapist by day and the other half of Lumi & Wood always, I bring a unique perspective to our family business. While Mitchell crafts, I envision how our pieces transform living spaces.

My passion for interior design and creating warm, inviting homes guides our product decisions. I understand how the right accents can dramatically change a room's feel.

My goal? To help you turn your house into a home that truly reflects you. From selecting finishes to visualizing placement, I'm here to ensure each Lumi & Wood piece not only looks beautiful but feels right in your space.
