A little about our process

At Lumi and Wood, we have been working tirelessly to craft the perfect light and outlet switch plates from high quality and locally sourced wood.  We love the result, and we know that you will to!  Each plate is made to order. Each week, we start with solid slabs of live edge wood, carefully milling and processing to the perfect size.  We utilize a high quality laser to engrave each design on your light switch plate.  From there, we finish each step by hand from routing, edging, sanding and finishing in our home shop.  All of our products pass through our hands multiple times during the production process, ensuring that you get only the best product.  

Because each slab of wood has unique coloring and characteristics, you can ensure that no one else will have a product exactly like yours! This also means that each plate will have it's own unique patterns and color. We love to talk about the "rainbow of wood grain" that we can find when we start cutting into a new slab of Walnut.
